APM Candidate Fagbemi Donates ₦1m to Ibadan North-West Traders’ Association

Pledges better representation, economic opportunities as traders laud support at 10th anniversary celebration

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate for the Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Dr Akin Fagbemi, has donated ₦1 million to the Ibadan North-West Traders’ Association to support its activities.

Fagbemi made the donation on Tuesday during the association’s 10th Anniversary and Chieftaincy Award Ceremony held at the Ibadan North-West Local Government Secretariat, Onireke, Ibadan.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, the APM standard-bearer commended the association for its contributions to commerce and grassroots economic development, describing traders as indispensable partners in the growth of the local economy.

He said the donation was aimed at supporting the association’s programmes and encouraging members to remain united in advancing their collective interests.

Congratulating the association on its 10th anniversary, Fagbemi urged members to continue promoting peaceful coexistence and cooperation, noting that their resilience had sustained many families and contributed significantly to economic activities in the constituency.

The APM candidate, who thanked the association for the recognition accorded him during the event, assured traders, artisans and small business owners of his continued support, pledging to provide effective representation and champion policies that would create greater economic opportunities and improve their welfare if elected.

He stressed the need for stronger collaboration between elected representatives and grassroots organisations to ensure inclusive development across the constituency, while urging members of the association to remain law-abiding and continue contributing to the socio-economic growth of Ibadan.

In their remarks, leaders of the Ibadan North-West Traders’ Association expressed appreciation to Fagbemi for the ₦1 million donation and his participation in the anniversary celebration, describing the gesture as a reflection of his commitment to the welfare and development of traders.

The event featured the presentation of chieftaincy awards to distinguished personalities, cultural performances and goodwill messages from guests as the association celebrated a decade of service to traders in Ibadan North-West.
