Over 500 Residents Benefit From Family Free Medical Iutreach in Ijebu-Ode

No fewer than 500 residents of Ijebu-Ode and its environs benefited from a free medical and eye outreach organised by the Mosuro family of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun state on Sunday.

The outreach was held during the family’s reunion and took place at the family’s ancestral home, which was temporarily converted into a hospital for the day.

Spokesperson for the family, Dr Kolade Mosuro, announced the initiative at a news conference held to herald the event.

Mosuro said the reunion was planned to strengthen family bonds, foster unity among members, and give back to the society.

He noted that the outreach was part of activities lined up for the 2026 Mosuro family day celebration.

He added that the family decided to uphold the tradition of their forebears by giving back to the community through the free medical project.

According to him, the services provided included general medical care, laboratory tests, dental care, and comprehensive eye care for all attendees.

“A pharmacy is set up on site to dispense prescribed medications free of charge so patients can begin treatment immediately.

“Professionals are available for every specialty, with consultants, ophthalmologists, dentists, pharmacists, optometrists, and laboratory scientists on ground.

“Arrangement has also been made for as many that may require surgery free of charge.

“The family aimed to attend to over 500 patients within the single-day exercise and did not restrict participation to Ijebu-Ode residents alone, “he said.

Mosuro advised beneficiaries to follow their prescribed medication schedules and take responsibility for their health to ensure lasting improvement.

He observed that healthcare remained expensive in the country and often inaccessible to many, making community-driven interventions important.

“The outreach was supported by partner organizations including Jasons Organization from UCH, and the Damien Foundation, which conducted HIV, TB, and pregnancy screening, “he said.

The Chairman of the Outreach Organising Committee, Alhaji Olatubosun Mosuro, said that the family is known for service to humanity due to the contributions of their forebears to the community.

He said that the philanthropic gesture of Mosuro descendants was to continue the good work.

Responding, Mrs Aisha Adeniyi appreciated the family for providing free eye surgery for her daughter after the test.

Also, Mr Rasheed Abiola urged other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the descendants of the Mosuro family by giving back to their roots.
