Late Tunde Thomas, widely known as Tunde Gentle, has reportedly passed away following a shocking revelation about the paternity of his children. The 45-year-old former Oceanic Bank staffer died on December 15, 2020, just weeks after discovering that the two children he believed were his were allegedly fathered by his wife’s former boss at First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Adam Nuru, the bank’s Managing Director.
Reports indicate that Tunde’s wife, Moyo Thomas (née Ojo), had a past relationship with Nuru, who was also her direct supervisor at FCMB. Colleagues are said to have been aware of the alleged office affair. Throughout their marriage, Tunde was described as a devoted husband and father, providing his family with a comfortable lifestyle that included overseas vacations and top private school education for the children.

Trouble reportedly began when the couple’s first child turned eight. Moyo allegedly resigned from FCMB and traveled to the United States with the children, initially presenting it as a short holiday. When the children failed to return for the next school session in Nigeria, Tunde reportedly questioned their whereabouts. It was then that Moyo allegedly revealed he was not the biological father.
Further complications arose when Moyo reportedly applied for asylum in the United States, accusing Tunde of domestic violence — a claim that surprised many who knew him as calm and gentle. Sources suggest this move was intended to secure legal residency while preventing Tunde from confronting the situation in the US.
Following the revelation in 2017, Tunde reportedly suffered a stroke. While he recovered physically, those close to him say he was never the same emotionally, often breaking down in tears. He later tried to move on and reportedly began a new relationship with a lawyer.
On December 15, 2020, Tunde collapsed at home on the staircase of his residence and died instantly. An autopsy confirmed heart failure as the cause of death. He was laid to rest on December 30, 2020.
Social media reactions have been mixed, with many reflecting on the emotional toll of betrayal and prolonged stress. Users commented on the devastating impact on Tunde, highlighting issues of trust, accountability, and honesty in relationships.
