FRSC Osun Arraigns 48 Traffic Offenders, Convicts 46 Through Mobile Court in Osogbo

The Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Monday, December 29, 2025, arraigned 48 traffic offenders and convicted 46 through a mobile court presided over by Magistrate Ayokunle Siyanbola of the Osun State Judiciary, held at the FRSC Zone RS 11 Command Headquarters, Ikirun Road, Osogbo.

FRSC’s Sector Commander in Osun State, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, in a statement made available to the newsmen, said the exercise was part of the concerted efforts of the Osun Sector Command to rid the highways within its operational jurisdiction of traffic violations that often lead to avoidable crashes and loss of lives.

Adegboyega noted that the exercise adhered to the schedule of Mobile Court Operations for the ongoing 2025 Operation Zero Tolerance Special Patrols, which run nationwide from 15 December 2025 to 15 January 2026, as prepared by the Sector Command.

FRSC personnel were drawn from RS 11.1 Osun Sector Command, Osogbo, for the operation that lasted about three hours.

The operatives were led by the DCC Operations, DCC Akeem Ganiyu, while the operation was monitored and coordinated by the Sector Commander, CC Leye Adegboyega, fsi.

A total of 48 traffic offenders were arraigned before the court for 96 various offences, with the Sector Legal Officer, CRC Joshua Onalo, acting as prosecuting counsel. Of the 48 offenders prosecuted, 46 were convicted and opted to pay fines, while two were discharged and acquitted at the discretion of the court.

The operation yielded two cases of dangerous driving, 27 driver‑licence violations, four speed‑related offences, three arrests of overloaded vehicles and one case of attempted bribery of a marshal on duty (ACS).

The Sector Commander noted that the results further affirm the Command’s focus on critical offences that have been proven to be major causative factors of traffic crashes, injuries and fatalities.

He advised the motoring public to be safety‑conscious at all times and desist from driving habits that compromise safety, as the Command will continue its enforcement mandate to eradicate crashes from the roads.
