Asatola Asanike Celebrates Ibikunle on Birthday, Describes APC Leader As Pillar of Progressive Politics

Prince Kolawole Asatola Asanike, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and renowned philanthropist, has joined family members, political associates and well-wishers across Oyo State to celebrate a respected leader of the APC, as he marked his birthday on Monday.

In a congratulatory message made available to journalists, Prince Asanike described Alhaji Ibikunle as a committed progressive whose political life has been defined by service, loyalty and integrity.

He noted that Ibikunle’s contributions to party building and governance have earned him respect across political divides.

“Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle is a man of principle, whose political journey reflects the true spirit of progressive politics,” Asanike said.

The Ibadan-born politician recalled Ibikunle’s early years in public service, particularly his role as Personal Assistant to the late former Governor of Oyo State, late Alh Lam Adesina, saying that period exposed Ibikunle to people-centred leadership and disciplined governance.

“Working closely with Alh. Lam Adesina shaped his political philosophy and commitment to serving the people with honesty and courage,” he stated.

The APC chieftain, Asanike, also highlighted Ibikunle’s contributions at the federal level, noting that he has held notable political appointments, including serving as a member of the Southwest Development Commission. Asanike said these roles were a testament to Ibikunle’s capacity and the confidence reposed in him by national leadership.

“His appointments were based on competence and credibility, not sentiment,” he added.

Describing the celebrant as a stabilising force within the APC in Oyo State, Prince Asanike said Alhaji Ibikunle has continued to mentor younger politicians while working quietly to promote unity and cohesion within the party.

“He is a bridge-builder who believes in dialogue and collective progress. His counsel has helped to steady the party at critical moments,” he said.

A technocrat, Asanike, prayed for continued good health, long life and renewed strength for the celebrant, expressing confidence that Ibikunle would continue to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the APC and the development of Oyo State.

He urged party members and the public to celebrate the occasion by upholding the values of service, fairness and commitment to the common good, which he said Ibikunle represents.
