The Polytechnic Ibadan is set to celebrate its 40th graduation ceremony with a two-day series of events designed to honor academic excellence while addressing pressing national issues.
The events, scheduled for December 18 and 19, 2025, will bring together students, faculty, dignitaries, and legal experts for an academic and ceremonial showcase.
The first event, the convocation lecture, is slated for Thursday, December 18, at 4:00 p.m. in the North Campus Assembly Hall.
The lecture, themed “Legal Frameworks and Strategies for Addressing Terrorism, Banditry and Insurgency in Nigeria: A Multidimensional Approach,” will be delivered by renowned legal luminary Aare Muyiwa Akinboro SAN, FCIArb, FCIMC, Life Bencher.
Following the lecture, the institution will hold the formal 40th Convocation Ceremony on Friday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m., in the 1,000-capacity auditorium along South Campus Road.
The ceremony will feature the award of diplomas, certificates, and prizes to students across all faculties for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a statement, the Polytechnic invited members of the public, alumni, and stakeholders to join in celebrating the achievements of its students.
“On behalf of the Governing Council, Board of Studies, Management, Staff, and Students, we cordially invite all well-wishers to this landmark event,” the statement read.
The convocation events are expected to attract dignitaries, legal practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders, reinforcing the Polytechnic’s role as a leading institution for both educational innovation and civic engagement in Nigeria.
