Nigerian billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu has captured national attention after rewarding 510 employees of BUA Group with a total of ₦30 billion ($20.7 million) in cash bonuses for their loyalty and commitment over the years.

The generous payouts were announced during the BUA Night of Excellence Long Service Awards, held on December 13 at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos. The event celebrated employees across the conglomerate for long-term service and sustained contributions to the company’s growth.

Rabiu, who hails from Kano State, is the founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group and currently ranked Nigeria’s third-richest man, with an estimated net worth of $8.5 billion.

Details from the award ceremony revealed that five employees received ₦1 billion each, another five were given ₦500 million each, while several others earned between ₦5 million and ₦100 million, depending on their years of service and roles in the company.

“With a net worth of over $8 billion, gifting his staff a whopping sum of $20.7 million in cash is nothing but a kind gesture,” one social media user commented.
