The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has commended the Oluyole Social Elite for 55 years of dedicated service to the city, urging the club to continue investing in initiatives that drive the growth and development of Ibadan.

The commendation came during the club’s 55th Founders’ Week celebrations, which included a ceremonial visit to the Olubadan on Thursday. The event was led by the club’s President, Elite Simeon Ofudele Solademi, who reflected on the journey of the organization since its founding.

Speaking at the occasion, Solademi recalled how the club started over five decades ago with just five members. “I joined the club more than 20 years ago, and it’s inspiring to see how far we’ve come. From a small group of five founders, we have grown steadily, establishing scholarships, supporting community projects, and working on a permanent clubhouse to serve as a hub for our activities,” he said.

In his address, Solademi also praised the Olubadan for his continuous support of community initiatives.

“Your Majesty, we are grateful for your unwavering support for social clubs and community development in Ibadan. Your encouragement has inspired us and many other organizations to continue contributing positively to the growth of our city. We are proud to have your guidance as we celebrate our 55th anniversary,” he added.

While speaking at the event, Oba Ladoja lauded the club’s contributions to civic development and encouraged other social organizations in Ibadan to emulate its model of community service.

“I am committed to ensuring Ibadan continues to grow and remain united. Clubs like Oluyole Social Elite play a vital role in the development of our city, and I urge them to continue investing in initiatives that uplift our people,” he said.

Over the years, Oluyole Social Elite has been instrumental in promoting education, social welfare, and cultural engagement in Ibadan. The club’s 55th anniversary celebrations also aim to honor past members, strengthen community ties, and inspire the younger generation to embrace civic responsibility.
