The traditional and political landscape of Oyo State has been abuzz with excitement following the recent conferment of Senator Teslim Folarin as the Agbakin of Ibadanland. The news has been met with widespread acclaim, with many hailing it as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions to the state and the country at large.
Chief Femi Durodola, the Agoro of Okaka land in Itesiwaju Local Government, Oyo State, and a prominent chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), has extended his warmest congratulations to Senator Folarin on this prestigious honour.
In another development, the former special assistant to the late governor Abiola Ajimobi has equally congratulated the Senator representing the Oyo North Senatorial District, Dr. Fatai Buhari, on his birthday.
In a statement, Chief Durodola described Senator Folarin as a “civic politician and splendid social character with charisma, who has consistently demonstrated his commitment to serving the people.”
“Senator Teslim Folarin is a leader of unimpeachable character, and his conferment as Agbakin of Ibadanland is a fitting tribute to his tireless efforts to serve the people,” Chief Durodola said.
The Okaka Chief also noted that “…as a leader of the All Progressive Congress and a three-term senator representing his people, Senator Folarin’s new title is expected to further boost his influence in Oyo State politics.”
Durodola also, in a separate development, congratulated another serving three-term senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, who recently celebrated another year of life.
The Ogbomoso-born politician, Buhari, who represents the Oyo North Senatorial District of Oyo State, Durodola observes, has been a stalwart of Nigerian politics, and his contributions to the development of the state and the country cannot be overstated.
“Senator Abdulfatai Buhari is a dedicated public servant, and his re-election to a third term in the Senate is an evidence of his popularity and the trust reposed in him by the people of Oyo North,” Chief Durodola said.
Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, who is currently 64 years old, has continued to be a voice for his people, championing issues that impact their lives and livelihoods.
Chief Durodola praised Senator Buhari’s dedication to public service, noting that his contributions to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria at large have not gone unnoticed.
On Senator Folarin, the APC chieftain Durodola expressed his confidence that Folarin’s new title would further galvanize his efforts to serve the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State at large, saying, “I have no doubt that Senator Folarin will continue to be a beacon of hope for the people of Ibadanland and Oyo State, and I wish him well in his future endeavours.”
