The Mogaji Ariyibi Arikotokowooggunsi, Olorisaoko, Abebi, Ibadan, Mogaji Soladoye Adewole’s wife, Oluwatoyin, has lost her father, Pa David Adeyemi Ojesanmi. The Ojesanmi family has announced plans for his final burial, scheduled for Thursday, 28th November 2025.
Mogaji Soladoye, who is the Public Relations Officer of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, joins family and friends in mourning the respected patriarch.
Fondly known as Baba Olopa, Pa Ojesanmi passed away at the age of 95. He was born in 1930 at Busogbooro Village, Ibadan, to Pa Ojesanmi Akangbe of Bada Compound and Madam Ayoola Marian Ojesanmi of Kure’s Compound, Oja Oba. He grew up in a disciplined, Christian home that instilled values of honesty, hard work, and service.
The family announced that the Wake Keep will hold on Wednesday, 27th November 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at S7/699a, Adeyemo Layout, Molete, Ibadan. The Burial Service will follow on Thursday, 28th November 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at The Cathedral Church of Saint David’s Anglican Church, Kudeti, Ibadan, with music by the Police Band. Entertainment and reception will be at Alayande Hall, Ibadan Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan.
Pa Ojesanmi began his career as a teacher, serving as Headmaster of St. Paul’s School, Asejire, before joining the Western Region Local Government Police in 1959. During the Civil War, he was absorbed into the Nigeria Police Force, serving in postings across Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Ijebu-Ode, Odeda, and Abeokuta. He retired honourably in 1994 after 35 years of service.
A devoted family man, he was married to four wives and blessed with 13 children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for his honesty, humility, and compassion, Pa Ojesanmi left a lasting legacy of faith, discipline, and service.
