Call for Applications: Presidential Committee Launches ₦10m Tax Reform Challenge for Nigerian Students

The Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms has announced the launch of the Tax Reform Challenge 2025, calling on Nigerian undergraduates and recent graduates to participate in a national competition designed to promote awareness and engagement around the country’s evolving tax reform agenda.

The challenge invites entries from students in universities, polytechnics, and colleges across Nigeria, as well as National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and those awaiting mobilization. Participants are expected to create original and informative content—ranging from articles, videos, and podcasts to social media campaigns—that educate or critique Nigeria’s new tax laws.

According to the committee, submissions may be made individually or through student associations, particularly those in economics, accounting, journalism, or tax-related fields. Entries are accepted in English, Pidgin, Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba, with English translations required for non-English submissions.

Participants are to review recent tax reform policies and produce fact-based, creative, and engaging works published between July 1 and December 31, 2025.

Submissions are to be made through the official portal available on the committee’s website.

Prizes include ₦5 million for the first-place winner, ₦3 million for the second, and ₦2 million for the third, alongside other incentives such as gadgets, internships, job placements, and appointments as Tax Reform Youth Ambassadors. Student clubs and associations may also receive special recognition grants.

The Presidential Committee noted that the initiative aims to deepen young Nigerians’ understanding of public finance and tax policy while encouraging creative participation in national reforms.
