The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has issued fresh operational guidelines to help students facing difficulties with their monthly upkeep disbursements on the Student Loan Portal.
In an official statement released via its verified X (Twitter) handle, the agency directed affected beneficiaries to promptly reset or update their bank account details on the portal to enable seamless processing of payments.
According to NELFUND, the directive specifically targets students who mistakenly entered incorrect or invalid bank details during registration, leading to payment delays. It, however, clarified that students whose upkeep allowances are being credited regularly do not need to make any changes.

The agency assured beneficiaries that once the correct account details are updated, all pending or withheld payments will be processed and credited to their bank accounts without further delay.

For users encountering technical errors such as “API limit exceeded” or other system-related issues, NELFUND advised clearing browser cache, switching to another browser, or retrying after some time, citing heavy traffic on the loan platform as the cause of temporary disruptions.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and efficiency, NELFUND stated that it remains dedicated to ensuring timely financial support for all eligible students across Nigerian tertiary institutions.
