A member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Honourable Sunday Adepoju, has praised the management of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, for its efficient and transparent execution of TETFund-sponsored projects across the institution.

Hon. Adepoju, a former two-term member of the House of Representatives who represented Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, gave the commendation during a monitoring visit to inspect TETFund projects at the institution on Monday.

Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Adepoju lauded the Acting Rector, Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi, and his team for ensuring that all TETFund projects within the school were not only well executed but also properly maintained.

“I’m very impressed with the quality of work I’ve seen. There are no abandoned projects. The buildings are being monitored and everything is in good shape, but of course, you can still do better,” he said.

Hon. Adepoju further described The Polytechnic, Ibadan, as a leading institution in technological advancement, noting its long-standing contribution to manpower development and national growth.

“I’m not expecting anything less from what I have seen. This institution has always been at the forefront of technological development. It has produced many graduates who are doing excellently well in different fields of human endeavour,” he added.

During the visit, the TETFund Board member was also decorated as an Ambassador of The Polytechnic, Ibadan — a gesture he described as an honour and a homecoming, having obtained his National Diploma from the institution in 1984.
He assured the management that funds approved for the maintenance of certain facilities within the school would be released soon to ensure timely intervention and sustainability.
“I can assure you that funds for maintenance of some facilities will be released as soon as possible so that immediate attention can be given to them,” he promised.
In his response, the Acting Rector, Dr. Taiwo Abideen Lasisi, expressed appreciation to Hon. Adepoju and the TETFund Board for their confidence in the institution’s management and their continued support toward infrastructural development.
Dr. Lasisi reaffirmed that under his leadership, The Polytechnic, Ibadan, would continue to uphold accountability, transparency, and excellence in the management of all TETFund interventions.
“We are grateful for the trust and support from TETFund. The Polytechnic, Ibadan, will continue to live up to the expectations of our proprietor and all stakeholders,” the Rector said.
The visit is part of TETFund’s ongoing efforts to monitor and evaluate funded projects across Nigeria’s tertiary institutions to ensure proper utilisation of public funds and promote sustainable educational development.
