UI to Host Entrepreneurial Trailblazer, Olansile Olanrewaju, for Annual Personality Lecture

The University of Ibadan (UI) is set to host one of its outstanding alumni, Olansile Olanrewaju, popularly known as Advantage, as one of the guest speakers for this year’s Annual Personality Lecture organized by the Department of Animal Science under the Animal Science Students’ Association of Nigeria (ASSAN), UI Chapter.

The event, which holds on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Animal Science Event Centre, University of Ibadan.

This year’s lecture, themed “More Than Feed and Breed: The Nation We Lead,” will feature five distinguished personalities drawn from academia, agribusiness, and the private sector.

According to a statement released by ASSAN, the speakers for the 2025 edition include Prof. Tolu Ososanya, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ibadan; Oyedokun Solomon, General Manager, Peak Feeds; Nathan Ekeke, Manager, Top Feeds; Olansile Olanrewaju, Co-founder of Cassavaverse Limited; and Ohanjiwa Emmanuel, Chief Executive Officer of Jmages Ltd.

The association explained that the event forms part of the activities lined up for the 2025 ASSAN Week, an annual celebration that promotes innovation, leadership, and excellence within the Department of Animal Science.

The lecture series will explore diverse themes relevant to the agricultural and business ecosystem, including “Nutrition for Sustainability: Shaping the Future We Lead,” “Poultry Innovation Beyond Production,” and “Transforming Knowledge into Future Prosperity.”

Olansile Olanrewaju, who will deliver a special lecture on “Transforming Knowledge into Future Prosperity,” is expected to share his insights on the importance of converting academic learning into practical opportunities capable of driving personal growth and national development. He is regarded as one of Oyo State’s rising voices in entrepreneurship and agribusiness, known for his innovative approach to youth empowerment and economic sustainability.

A proud alumnus of the University of Ibadan, Olansile graduated in 2020 with a Second Class Upper Division in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition. During his undergraduate years, he was widely recognized for his exceptional leadership qualities and social impact. He notably served as Chairman of Kenneth Mellanby Hall, the university’s premier hall of residence, where he led several developmental and student welfare initiatives that earned him the admiration of both peers and staff.

Since completing his studies, Olansile has made remarkable strides in the business and innovation space. He is the founder and co-founder of two thriving enterprises, Cassavaverse Limited, a tech-driven agribusiness company transforming the cassava value chain in Nigeria, and LXA Nigeria, a creative firm dedicated to empowering young entrepreneurs through innovation and digital transformation. His entrepreneurial ventures reflect his passion for sustainability, innovation, and inclusive economic growth, particularly among young Nigerians.

In its statement, ASSAN described Olansile as “a symbol of excellence and innovation who continues to inspire young people to dream big and take bold steps in shaping the future of agriculture and enterprise in Nigeria.”

The association emphasized that inviting him to speak at this year’s lecture was both a celebration of his achievements and a reminder to current students that success is attainable through vision, determination, and purpose-driven learning.
