18-Year-Old UNIPORT Student Develops AI App That Turns Any Website Into a Smart Platform

An 18-year-old undergraduate of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Obinna Chimdi, has developed a groundbreaking artificial intelligence (AI) application capable of transforming any website into an AI-enabled platform.

Chimdi, a Mathematics and Computer Science student, unveiled his creation, ChatATP, describing it as a tool that goes beyond conversation to execute real-world actions on behalf of users.

“Imagine asking ChatGPT not just how to book a flight but to actually complete the booking for you. That’s what ChatATP does,” Chimdi explained.

The app works by linking conversational AI models with everyday websites where people typically perform tasks manually. With it, users can check flight availability, send emails, query timetables, and perform other actions seamlessly.

At the core of ChatATP is Chimdi’s innovation called the “Agents2 protocol” — a system he likens to “HTTP for AI agents.” The protocol standardises communication between AI and digital toolkits, enabling scalability, flexibility, and broader integration across applications.

Although ChatATP currently runs on limited resources and supports only a small number of users, the project reflects a bold ambition. Chimdi says he draws inspiration from tech pioneers such as Mark Zuckerberg and hopes to one day build a world-class AI company.

Despite competition from larger, well-funded projects like AutoGPT and Lumio AI, ChatATP offers a unique proposition: enabling AI to move from static conversations to performing meaningful tasks.

“ChatATP is not just a side project; it’s a statement that you don’t need huge funding to start innovation. What matters is vision, persistence, and the courage to build,” he said.

Chimdi hopes to expand the platform into a widely adopted tool that redefines how humans interact with machines.
