The National Universities Commission (NUC) has issued a strong warning to the public against patronising 58 unapproved universities currently operating illegally across Nigeria.
In a public notice released this week, the Commission declared that the affected institutions have no legal authority to award degrees, stressing that unsuspecting students risk wasting both their time and resources.

“For the avoidance of doubt, anybody who patronises or obtains any certificate from any of these illegal institutions does so at his or her own risk,” the NUC cautioned.
