100-Level Student Found Dead in Boyfriend’s House

Shock and mourning have gripped the Taraba State University community following the discovery of the lifeless body of a 100-level student in the Bakasi area of Jalingo metropolis.

The deceased, identified as Comfort Jimtop Oliver, was a first-year student in the Department of Mass Communication. She hailed from Takum Local Government Area of the state.

According to preliminary reports, her body was discovered in a residence alleged to belong to her boyfriend. The circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear as of the time of filing this report.

The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed that an investigation has been launched to unravel the mystery. Police spokesperson, James Lashen, told reporters that details were still sketchy. “The details surrounding her death are yet to be uncovered, but we will provide updates once we hear from the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area,” he said.

The university community has been thrown into grief, with students and staff expressing sorrow over the sudden loss of what many described as “a promising young life.” Though the university’s spokesperson could not be reached, some staff confirmed the incident, assuring that the institution would work closely with the police to get to the root of the tragedy.

Authorities say efforts are underway to determine the cause of death and establish the events leading up to the incident.
