The Dangote Refinery has announced a reduction in its petrol gantry price to ₦820 per litre, alongside a new direct distribution initiative that will take effect from Monday, September 15, 2025.
The development was contained in a statement issued via the refinery’s official Twitter handle on Thursday, September 11, 2025. According to the notice, while the gantry price has been fixed at ₦820 per litre, the final retail pump price will differ across states.
Under the arrangement, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti will retail petrol at ₦841 per litre, while Abuja, Delta, Rivers, Edo, and Kwara will sell at ₦851 per litre.

This translates to a reduction of about ₦19 per litre for South-West states and ₦34 per litre for Abuja, the North Central, and South-South zones, compared to prevailing market prices.
Dangote Refinery further announced that it would deliver products directly to registered petrol station owners nationwide at no additional cost.

“All petrol station owners nationwide are invited to register for free delivery and other benefits,” the statement read, urging marketers to contact its official sales channels.
The company added that the direct supply will begin with selected states before being expanded nationwide in phases.

The announcement comes amid fresh tension in the downstream sector. The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), in a statement signed by its President William Akporeha and General Secretary Afolabi Olawale, said it had placed members on “red alert” following what it described as Dangote Group’s alleged decision to backtrack on an agreement recently brokered by the federal government.

NUPENG warned of a possible resumption of the suspended nationwide strike. But the Dangote Group maintained that it “respects the voluntary membership of unions by its workers”, insisting that its new pricing and delivery initiative was aimed at easing the burden on Nigerians.
