The University of Ibadan has commenced the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) screening for no fewer than 14,000 candidates seeking admission into its 21 faculties for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The computer-based exercise, which began on Monday, August 25, 2025, is being conducted at the university’s 1,500-capacity Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Centre located within the Distance Learning Centre. The screening is expected to run for three days, with candidates scheduled in four batches daily to ensure smooth participation.
According to the institution’s Directorate of Public Communication, the exercise was carefully planned to maintain orderliness and the safety of participants. Medical personnel from the University Health Services (Jaja Clinic) were on standby to attend to emergencies, while safety officers coordinated crowd control measures. Parents and guardians of the candidates were also accommodated under designated canopies within the CBT Centre premises.

Principal officers of the university, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Peter O. Olapegba, alongside designated teaching and non-teaching staff, were present to supervise and monitor the process.

The Post-UTME exercise is a crucial stage in the university’s admission process, determining which of the thousands of applicants will secure a place in Nigeria’s premier university for the new academic session.
