“If he beats me, I’ll leave” — Jarvis Speaks After Viral Video of Peller Pushing Her

TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has reacted to a viral video that captured her boyfriend and fellow content creator, Habeeb Hamzat (aka Peller), pushing her during an altercation at singer Seyi Vibez’s concert in Lagos.

In a video posted online, Jarvis dismissed claims that she was a victim of domestic abuse, stressing that while she did not condone the incident, she would not remain in a violent relationship.

“Advise your family. I’m not going to hide under the fact that I’m a small girl. I’m a small girl, but I’m old enough to take responsibility for what I want.

You people are saying Peller is beating me. Are you people okay? I’m not a child and if a man is beating me, this is not the 1960s, where they would tell the lady her husband is beating to not leave. If it was something like that, I would have left. My life first.
That pushing was not it actually. It was a no-no, but I believe that he will change,” she said.

The short clip of the confrontation, filmed at Tafawa Balewa Square, sparked outrage on social media, with many users condemning Peller’s behaviour.

Responding to the backlash, Peller released a statement on Instagram, insisting the moment was taken out of context.

“I streamed almost 6 hours, but a 30-second clip with good intentions is being pushed to paint me wrongly. Negative clips get picked while the hours of work and joy are ignored,” he wrote.

The 20-year-old content creator also spoke about the challenges of fame, saying he was still trying to balance life under public scrutiny.

“I’m just 20, still figuring life out, trying to provide for myself and my family. Sometimes it feels like people don’t care if I break down or even lose myself in the process,” he added.

According to him, the altercation occurred as they were leaving the concert and he had only been trying to protect Jarvis from aggressive fans demanding money.
