The Encourage Science Initiative (ESI) has announced the opening of applications for its 2025 Undergraduate Research Grant, designed to support final-year students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines across Nigerian universities.
The grant, worth up to ₦100,000, is aimed at funding students’ final-year research projects, fostering innovation, and building a stronger research culture among young scholars.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be final-year undergraduate students in STEM fields by the application deadline.

A minimum academic standing of Second Class Upper (2:1) CGPA is required.

Candidates must submit a personal statement (maximum 250 words) outlining project details, justification, and a budget not exceeding ₦100,000.

Each application must be accompanied by a supporting letter from the student’s project supervisor.

Grant Benefits:

Successful applicants will receive up to ₦100,000 to cover the cost of their final-year research project.

The grant is a one-time award and will run from September 2025 to February 2026.

Deadline: Applications close on October 30, 2025.
