The Federal Ministry of Education, through the Federal Scholarship Board (FSB), has announced the commencement of applications for the 2026/2027 Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) for Nigerian students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom.

According to the official statement, the fully funded programme covers Master’s and PhD studies, offering recipients not only an opportunity for advanced academic training but also access to a global network of Commonwealth scholars.

Eligibility Criteria

Master’s Applicants: Must hold a minimum of First Class or Second Class Upper in their first degree.

PhD Applicants: Minimum of Second Class Lower, with additional requirements.

NYSC Requirement: Applicants must present a valid discharge or exemption certificate.

University Admission: Candidates are expected to secure at least two admissions from UK universities.

PhD Applicants: Must include a supporting statement from their proposed UK host university.

Submission: Completed forms must be printed before online submission.

Important Notes
The FSB stressed that the application process is completely free of charge and warned applicants to beware of fraudulent individuals or agencies demanding payment. For physical correspondence, the office is located at Plot 245, Samuel Ademulegun Street, Central Business District, Abuja.
