A Nigerian-born student, Abiola Abidoye, has achieved the highest A-Level law grade in the United Kingdom, earning national recognition for his exceptional performance.
The 18-year-old Ipswich scholar, who studied at One Sixth Form College, secured A* grades in all four of his subjects — mathematics, further mathematics, law, and physics. His standout result came in law, where he scored 224 out of 240 marks across three papers, ranking him as the top law student in the UK at A-Level.

Despite excelling in science and mathematics, Abiola described law as his “passion subject,” admitting he never expected to achieve such a remarkable score.
“I wasn’t expecting to do so well. I did law because it’s something I love — human rights, commercial law, just anything I can learn about,” he said.

Abiola credited long study hours and his teachers’ guidance for his success, though he admitted the journey was demanding. “I put in an immense amount of work, often staying up until late at night. It was tough, but I’m happy it paid off,” he added.
His law result, released before his other grades, gave him a confidence boost while awaiting the rest. Teachers at One Sixth Form College praised his resilience, describing him as a role model for students balancing academic rigor with passion-driven learning.

Looking ahead, Abiola plans to study mathematics at university, with aspirations of a career in banking or finance. Analysts say his blend of analytical and legal reasoning skills positions him for success across multiple fields
