An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday discharged Miss Comfort Emmason of charges relating to unruly behaviour and assaulting flight crew aboard an Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos.
Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami struck out the five-count charge after the police prosecution team applied to withdraw the case.
At the resumed hearing, police prosecutor Oluwabunmi Adeitan informed the court of new developments that warranted the withdrawal and presented a formal application, which the court granted.

Emmason had been arrested on Monday following an altercation with crew members during the flight. The incident, which drew widespread public attention after videos surfaced online, sparked debates over passenger conduct and airline handling of disruptive situations.
The withdrawal follows recent intervention by the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, who on Wednesday announced that Ibom Air had agreed to drop the complaint against Emmason and that the Airline Operators of Nigeria would lift her lifetime flying ban.
