The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of its newly appointed Assistant Coach, Akin Olowokere.
Olowokere, a former Sunshine Stars of Akure player and tactician, reportedly slumped on Monday morning during the Oluyole Warriors’ training session at the club’s pitch in Ibadan, Oyo State. Eyewitnesses said he was immediately attended to by medical personnel and rushed to an undisclosed hospital, where he was confirmed dead.


As of press time, the cause of death had not been officially disclosed.
Olowokere was unveiled only recently as part of 3SC’s new technical crew following the exit of Gbenga Ogunbote and his assistants. Before his appointment, he had served as an assistant coach under Edith Agoye at Sunshine Stars, where he had also enjoyed a long playing career.
