The African Development Bank (AfDB), in partnership with the Government of Japan, is calling for applications for the Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) 2025/2026 program — a fully funded opportunity for exceptional African students to pursue a two-year master’s degree in Japan or at selected African partner universities.
The program is part of AfDB’s High 5 strategic priorities — Feed Africa, Light up and Power Africa, Industrialize Africa, Integrate Africa, and Improve the Quality of Life for Africans — and aims to strengthen human resource capacity across the continent.

Eligibility: Applicants must be citizens of AfDB member countries, aged 35 or younger, in good health, with a bachelor’s degree earned within the last three years, and at least one year of paid work experience in Africa. Admission into an approved master’s program at a Japanese or African partner university is required.
Benefits: The scholarship covers tuition, a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, health insurance, and, where applicable, research grants, internships, and preparatory training.
