Apply Now: UK Opens 2025 Chevening Scholarship Applications for Future Leaders

The United Kingdom has officially opened the application portal for the 2025/2026 Chevening Scholarships, inviting aspiring leaders and changemakers from Nigeria and across the world to apply for the prestigious fully funded master’s programme. Applications are open from August 5 to October 7, 2025, and must be submitted via chevening.org/apply.

Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations, the Chevening Scholarship offers a unique opportunity for individuals with strong leadership potential and a passion for creating positive change to pursue a one-year master’s degree at any UK university.

Speaking in Abuja, Emma Hennessey, Head of the Scholarships Unit at the FCDO, described Chevening as a gateway for outstanding individuals who use their UK-acquired education and global networks to drive progress in their home countries.

“Chevening’s highly competitive process ensures that only the brightest and most driven individuals are selected,” Hennessey stated. “If you have the leadership, influence, and networking skills required, I strongly encourage you to apply.”

British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, also encouraged Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity, saying, “Whether your aspirations lie in public service, entrepreneurship, or solving global problems, Chevening provides the platform to grow your skills and become part of a powerful international network.”

He emphasised that the programme seeks individuals with passion and a commitment to making a meaningful impact in Nigeria and globally. “If you have the potential to lead positive change, this scholarship is for you,” he added.
