Applications are now open for the Ireland Fellows Programme 2025, offering fully funded master’s degree opportunities to early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana. Funded by the Government of Ireland through the Department of Foreign Affairs, the prestigious fellowship enables recipients to study at leading higher education institutions in Ireland.
The programme covers tuition fees, flights, accommodation, and living expenses, supporting a one-year academic programme beginning between August and September 2025. It aims to build future leaders, strengthen diplomatic ties, and contribute to sustainable development in the Global South.

To qualify, applicants must:
-
Be citizens and residents of Nigeria or Ghana
-
Have at least two years of relevant work experience
-
Choose three eligible programmes from the official course directory
-
Meet academic, English proficiency, and development-focused criteria
The initiative strongly encourages applications from women, persons with disabilities, and individuals from underrepresented communities, aligning with Ireland’s SDG and development goals.
Interested candidates must submit a preliminary application between 30 June and 25 July 2025 through their country-specific portal. Only shortlisted applicants will proceed to the next phase.
The programme is managed in partnership with the Irish Council for International Students (ICOS) and supported by Irish Embassies and Education in Ireland.
