Call for Applications: 2025 SME Skills Program by Google and HP

In a major push to equip African entrepreneurs with future-ready skills, Google, HP Inc., and UpSkill Universe have launched the Skills for Business 2025 program. The initiative aims to empower 10,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Nigeria and South Africa with critical digital and business tools to scale and succeed.

According to the organizers, the program will offer tailored training in digital marketing, artificial intelligence, and e-commerce, using HP LIFE’s learning platform. These modules are designed to enhance productivity, improve customer acquisition, and support online growth.

Beyond direct participants, the initiative is expected to impact an additional 59,000 individuals by the end of 2025.

“Entrepreneurs across Africa are already transforming their communities. This programme will give them the digital edge they need,” said Gori Yahaya, CEO of UpSkill Universe.

Google’s Kristy Grant noted the importance of digital access for small businesses, while Michele Malejki of HP emphasized how this aligns with HP’s broader commitment to digital equity.

Interested SME owners can apply via the official Skills for Business 2025 portal.
