How to Apply for CSEA Africa’s $1,500 Remote Data Fellowship 2025

The Centre for the Study of the Economies of Africa (CSEA) has opened applications for its 2025 Africa’s Data Future Fellowship, a competitive 3-month remote capacity-building program designed to empower early-career professionals shaping the continent’s digital and data governance future.

Successful fellows will receive a $1,500 stipend upon completion and gain access to exclusive mentorship, masterclasses, and a pan-African network of changemakers and thought leaders in data policy, governance, and technology.

Who Can Apply?

The fellowship targets emerging African leaders with:

  • A postgraduate degree

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in fields such as law, technology, digital policy, or data governance

  • Demonstrated interest in any of the thematic areas below

  • Commitment to 2 hours per week for 3 months

  • Access to a reliable internet connection and computer

  • Digital Public Infrastructure

  • Interoperability Standards & APIs
