The newly elected Student Union Government (SUG) of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), under the leadership of Comrade Adio James Iyanuoluwa, has officially unveiled its vision and commitment to what it calls a “Better Days” administration, promising transparency, responsiveness, and progressive action on student welfare.
In a press statement signed by the SUG President, General Secretary Comrade Alao Ayorinde, and Public Relations Officer Comrade Abiola David, the executives described their emergence as the outcome of a collective student struggle and pledged to work hand-in-hand with the over 55,000 students of the institution.
“The sojourn that led to this point is one marred with struggle, sweat, and tears, a true testament of grit, resilience, and faith,” the statement read. “We have heard the cries from every nook and cranny… and we are here not only promising to go through the journey with you, but to put an end to most of our worries.”
Referring to himself as the “Bus Driver” of the journey, Comr. Adio emphasized the symbolic nature of student leadership as a shared mission rather than a solo pursuit.
“This unity of mind is what we ask for as we tread this path. We ask not for much, only your support, allegiance, and good graces.”

The executives highlighted their openness to partnerships and collaborations that align with their vision of progress, adding that ideas, feedback, and contributions from students would be central to shaping policy and initiatives.
“Your insights, your ideas, your feedback, your connections, they are all vital on this journey,” the cabinet noted, inviting every student to “board this bus to better days.”
