Are you a young changemaker or steward passionate about creating a world where both people and nature can thrive? Applications are now open for the 2026 Restoration Stewards program, your opportunity to turn bold ideas into tangible action.

About the Program

The Restoration Stewards program, launched by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) and the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL), supports youth-led teams working to restore landscapes and seascapes while preserving biocultural diversity. Rooted in values of care, inclusion, and intergenerational equity, the program runs for one year and is built around four pillars:
funding, mentorship, capacity building, and global visibility.

Selected stewards will receive a €5,000 grant and mentorship to grow their impact and serve as restoration ambassadors at both local and global levels.

Who Can Apply?

You are eligible if you:

  • Are aged 18–35

  • Lead or are part of a youth-led restoration project in one of these ecosystems: forests, mountains, oceans, wetlands, peatlands, drylands, or rangelands

  • Align with the GLF’s vision, values, and mission

  • Have a project that has been active for at least six months

 Priority is given to:

  • Projects based in Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Caribbean

  • Led by local, Indigenous, or underrepresented youth

  • Teams with at least one English-proficient member

Note: You don’t have to start from scratch. Existing projects are welcome!
