How the Lady I Was Supposed to Marry Demanded Two Cars Before Saying Yes” – Saka

Veteran Nollywood actor and comedian, Afeez Oyetoro, popularly known as Saka, has opened up about a surprising and painful experience he faced during his search for a life partner.

Speaking during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the beloved comic actor recounted a moment in his youth that left a lasting impression. He revealed that a woman he had been courting for marriage gave him a bold condition before accepting his proposal.

“The one that I was supposed to marry was demanding that I must have two cars,” Saka said.

According to the actor, the demand was particularly discouraging as he was still trying to find his footing in life and career at the time. He added that the incident taught him valuable lessons about materialism and the pressure young men face during the early stages of their lives.

Now widely known for his expressive face and comedic genius in movies and advertisements, Afeez Oyetoro has become a household name in Nigeria. Despite being a fan favourite in the iconic Etisalat (now 9mobile) commercial that featured the memorable “I don port o!” catchphrase, the actor clarified that he was never an official brand ambassador.

“A lot of people thought I was an ambassador to Etisalat. No. I didn’t have any formal or official arrangement. I am just a model,” he explained.

Saka, who is also a lecturer in the Theatre Arts department at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, is known for his commitment to education and advocacy for girl-child development.
