The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) in partnership with the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL) is now accepting applications for the 2026 Restoration Stewards Program, offering successful applicants a €5,000 grant, mentorship, and international exposure to grow their environmental restoration projects.
Launched in 2020, the Restoration Stewards Program supports young people (ages 18–35) leading community-based projects focused on restoring critical ecosystems like forests, mountains, oceans, wetlands, peatlands, drylands, and rangelands. The initiative aims to foster inclusive, nature-based solutions through funding, training, mentorship, and global visibility.
The 12-month program is designed to empower youth-led teams to scale their restoration work, engage communities, and showcase success stories on global platforms. Selected participants will receive:

A spotlight at major GLF events

Promotion and content support from the GLF team
Eligibility:
Applicants must:

Be aged between 18 and 35
-
Be leading or working on a youth-led restoration project active for at least 6 months
-
Focus on one of the priority ecosystems

Be based in or from Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Caribbean

Demonstrate commitment to GLF’s values, vision, and landscape approach
Special consideration will be given to women, Indigenous youth, and underrepresented groups. Proficiency in English is an advantage.
Application Requirements:

A 200-word personal restoration experience

A 1-minute video introducing yourself and your motivation

A description of the degraded landscape and your intervention plan

A one-page budget proposal detailing how the grant will be used

A photo of the project site
