African manufacturing companies leveraging AI and emerging tech to transform production are invited to apply for the prestigious Milken-Motsepe Prize in AI and Manufacturing—a global competition with a total prize pool of $2 million, including a $1 million Grand Prize.

Organized by the Milken Institute and the Motsepe Foundation, the prize is designed to reward scalable, AI-driven innovations that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and boost job creation across manufacturing value chains in Africa.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, companies must:

• Be at least 2 years old

• Be operating within Africa’s manufacturing sector

• Have secured Series A or later funding

• Be committed to advancing workforce growth

Prize Breakdown:

• Grand Prize: $1,000,000

• Runner-Up: $250,000

• 4IR Prize (Tech Innovation): $100,000

• Semi-Finalists (10): $50,000 each

• Finalists (5): $30,000 each

The competition also includes:

• A global pitch event before industry leaders

• Access to exclusive mentorship and networking opportunities

• Evaluation based on tech integration, commercial viability, and scalability

Timeline:

• Semi-finalists will be announced after the initial application review.

• Finalists will pitch to a panel of judges.

• Grand Prize will be awarded in May 2026.
