The World Bank Group (WBG), Africa Region, has officially opened applications for the 2026 World Bank Africa Fellowship Program, a prestigious and fully funded opportunity aimed at empowering Africa’s next generation of development leaders.

Designed for young, talented African nationals who are either completing or have recently completed their PhDs in fields relevant to the World Bank’s mission, the fellowship provides a six-month assignment at WBG offices in Washington, D.C., or selected country offices. Fellows will gain hands-on experience in development research, policymaking, and operations, contributing to poverty reduction and inclusive growth in the region.
