Nigeria’s sprint queen and world record holder, Tobi Amusan, returned to winning ways on Tuesday, claiming first place in the women’s 100m hurdles at the prestigious Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Amusan clocked an impressive 12.45 seconds, well ahead of the competition, as she delivered a commanding performance that signals her resurgent form ahead of key fixtures in the 2024 athletics season.

Slovakia’s Viktória Forster secured second place with a time of 12.74 seconds, narrowly edging Ireland’s Sarah Lavin, who finished third in 12.76 seconds. Both runners posted season-best times, with Lavin shaving over a tenth of a second off her previous best of 12.90.
The Nigerian star’s victory comes as a timely boost, reinforcing her status as one of the top contenders in women’s sprint hurdles as the global athletics calendar enters a decisive phase.
