The Students’ Union of the University of Ibadan has announced a final one-week extension for the payment of school fees and completion of course registration for the 2024/2025 academic session, following renewed negotiations with the university management.
According to a press release signed by President Covenant Odedele and General Secretary Segun V. Olowu, the new and final deadline is now set for Friday, June 27, 2025.
The Union explained that over the past three weeks, it has worked closely with the Bursary Unit to fast-track outstanding refunds from the previous session. Additionally, all applicants for the NELFUND loan have now been successfully credited in their e-wallets.
“We strongly encourage all students to take full advantage of this extended window to not only pay their fees but also complete their course registration,” the Union stated.
The leadership emphasized that only duly registered students will be recognized as bona fide members of the academic session and will be eligible to sit for examinations. They warned that no further extensions or reopening of the registration portal should be expected after June 27.
Faculty, departmental, and hall executives have been urged to engage with students—especially through course reps and other channels—to identify those who are yet to register and support them in addressing any challenges.
Students facing difficulties in understanding their course registration process or making portal payments are advised to reach out to their Departmental Executives, the ITeMS Office, or the NELFUND Support Office at NCC Digital Park along Tech Road.
“We remain resolutely committed to ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints or administrative lapses. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation with transparency and empathy, guided by our values of accountability and student-centred service,” the statement added.
