‘Emmanuella is my only wife, Titi is gone forever’ — Kwam 1 on marital status

Veteran Fuji maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as Kwam 1, has debunked rumours surrounding his marital life, clarifying that he is neither in conflict with his current wife, Emmanuella Ropo Ayinde-Marshal, nor rekindling any romantic relationship with his ex-wife, Titilola ‘Titi’ Marshal.

The rumours, which gained traction following Kwam 1’s public reunion with Titi during his mother’s burial in Ogun State months ago, had stirred speculation of a possible reconciliation. Added to this were claims that his marriage with Emmanuella was experiencing turbulence.

However, in a recent interview, the 68-year-old singer set the record straight, stating that he remains committed to Emmanuella, who he married in 2021, and dismissed any talk of marital fallout.

“I do not have any problem with Emmanuella,” he said. “The only issue, if any, might be the kind of rules one tries to put in place. I only advised her to take a break from social media and focus more on her business. That’s all.”

Kwam 1 explained that his current priority is the successful completion of a massive resort project, which, according to him, requires undivided attention and consumes a large portion of his time and financial resources.

“I’m busy with the construction of my resort. It’s a huge project. I withdrew to focus fully without distractions,” he said. “I told my wife to ease off social media so she could concentrate. Perhaps she didn’t take it well, but she’s entitled to her reaction.”

Addressing the speculations about his ex-wife, Titi Marshal, the Fuji legend maintained that their relationship has long ended, but he continues to be involved in the lives of their three children.

“Titi Marshal is gone forever. But because she is gone, should I ignore the three children she had for me?” he asked. “I’m not planning to marry a new wife. The woman people are talking about is not my wife.”

Kwam 1 further stated that he has no time for gossip or controversy, especially at this stage of his life, as he is fully invested in expanding his business ventures, which include farming and hospitality.

“I’m 68 already. Do I need to fool myself? What lies ahead of me is far greater than anything related to marriage drama,” he said. “I’m now into big-time business alongside music. This project takes up 90% of my funds.”

Kwam 1 married Titi in a private ceremony in Ijebu-Ode in 2018 before they parted ways. He later tied the knot with Emmanuella in a widely celebrated ceremony in Abeokuta in 2021.
