A Nigerian man based in an unnamed Asian country has returned home to a devastating surprise after five years of being away from his wife and two children.
The man, whose identity remains undisclosed, had reportedly maintained regular communication with his family and consistently sent money for their upkeep. According to him, the relationship had not shown signs of serious cracks, and he had no reason to suspect any betrayal—until a few months ago.
Two different individuals who had travelled to Nigeria and returned abroad told the man they had seen his wife visibly pregnant. Troubled but unsure, he decided to verify the claim himself by planning a secret visit to Nigeria—without informing his wife of his return.
To set his plan in motion, he tricked his wife into leaving the house by claiming he had sent her a package via DHL. He gave her a fake tracking number and asked her to pick it up. Once she left for the supposed errand, he went straight to their home.
There, the truth hit hard: his wife was indeed pregnant—something she had kept from him throughout their communication. Shocked and heartbroken, he left without confronting her and checked into a hotel.
As of the time of this report, the man has reportedly been in a hotel for three days, refusing to take his wife’s calls or speak with his children. Friends say he is “shattered and disappointed.”
The story, first shared by social media user Akagbobi Nkiru Angel, has gone viral online, sparking heated debates on loyalty, long-distance marriages, and deception.
Now, many are asking: what would you do if you were in his shoes?
