Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, is set to return to his alma mater, the University of Ibadan (UI), for a thrilling live concert tagged “A Beautiful Experience UI” on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the university’s SUB Pitch.
The concert, organized by TAP Music Entertainment in conjunction with the University of Ibadan Students’ Union and the Association of Faculty of Arts Students (AFAS), promises to be a nostalgic and electrifying homecoming for the singer who proudly identifies as a Uite.
Scheduled to kick off at 3PM, the event is expected to draw thousands of students and fans eager to witness the chart-topping artist perform live. Spyro shot to fame in 2022 with the release of “Billing”, and later skyrocketed into the mainstream with his viral anthem “Who is Your Guy?”, which saw a remix featuring Tiwa Savage in 2023. His vibrant discography includes collaborations with stars like Davido, Sound Sultan, Mayorkun, Dremo, and Diamond Platnumz.
Spyro, who graduated from UI, currently runs TAP Music Entertainment, the independent label through which he releases his music. The upcoming concert is not just a performance, but a symbolic return, a star alumnus giving back to the institution where it all began.
