Veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George has received a life-changing gift package — a four-bedroom duplex, an SUV, and a plot of land — thanks to the kindness of well-meaning Nigerians who rallied around her after her heartbreaking interview went viral.
The emotional news was shared by her junior colleague, Biola Bayo, who posted the update on Instagram. According to Biola, the generous gifts came from @ayokmagproperties1 and @ayokmag, who responded to Jumoke’s story of hardship with compassion.
“Today, we present a 4-bedroom duplex, an SUV and a plot of land to @jumoke_george. This wouldn’t have happened without your contributions. Thank you to everyone who made this dream a reality,” Biola wrote. She also thanked @royalhugssurprise for their unwavering support.
Jumoke’s daughter, Adeola Omotosho, also benefited from the outpouring of love, receiving a deep freezer and cash donations.
Jumoke had earlier revealed in an emotional interview with Biola Bayo that she had been homeless for five to six years, living in her church. She opened up about her deteriorating health, frequent hospital visits since January, and the financial burden of medical tests for her brain and heart conditions.
She also disclosed the painful disappearance of her 41-year-old daughter, Adeola, who had been missing for four years. Following the public plea, Biola Bayo, actor Adeniyi Johnson, and Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri, joined forces to reunite mother and daughter.
In a gut-wrenching interview, Adeola revealed she had been trafficked to Mali for N1.5 million and forced into prostitution. She endured years of abuse but held onto hope. In tears, she apologized to Nigerian mothers, insisting she was not a bad child and begged for forgiveness.
Jumoke’s struggles extend even further. In a previous interview, she recounted being abandoned by her mother after choosing to live with her father post-divorce. Sadly, her father’s new wife created a hostile environment, straining her relationship with her dad.
Now, after years of rejection, loss, and homelessness, Jumoke George’s story has taken a turn for the better — proving once again that the Nigerian spirit of giving can rewrite even the most painful narratives.
