Nigerian global music sensation, Tems, has been announced as one of the headline performers for the first-ever FIFA Club World Cup™ Final Halftime Show, marking a monumental fusion of football and music on a global scale.
Alongside fellow international superstars J Balvin and Doja Cat, Tems will light up MetLife Stadium in New York-New Jersey on Sunday, July 13, 2025, as part of the show set to be broadcast live and free worldwide on DAZN.com.
Tems, who previously thrilled fans at the Global Citizen Festival: Accra in Ghana in 2022, expressed her excitement over the historic performance and the deeper mission it supports.
“We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment – to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund,” she said. “I can’t wait – see you at the FIFA Club World Cup final!”
The halftime spectacle is part of a broader partnership between FIFA and Global Citizen, aimed at leveraging the massive reach of football and music to raise $100 million through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. The initiative, first announced at the Global Citizen NOW Summit in April, seeks to provide children worldwide with access to quality education and football.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the collaboration as “historic,” noting it would be the first halftime show of its kind at a FIFA competition.
“Together we are going to make history on a special occasion where football and music unite the world,” Infantino said. “This show will be unforgettable – not just for its spectacle, but for the lasting impact it will make.”
One dollar from every ticket sold for matches in the U.S. this summer will be donated to the fund. The inaugural FIFA Club World Cup, featuring 32 of the world’s top club teams, will be held across 12 venues in 11 U.S. cities from June 14 to July 13.
Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans added that the show would be a powerful tool to engage fans and tackle poverty:
“We can’t end extreme poverty without ensuring every child gets the education they deserve… We’re asking fans to step up, get involved, and be part of the movement driving real change.”
The show will be produced by Global Citizen, in partnership with Live Nation, Done + Dusted, and DPS, and directed by award-winning Hamish Hamilton. Executive producers include Hamilton, Guy Carrington, and Dave Meyers. Music superstar Chris Martin of Coldplay also contributed as Global Citizen’s international curator.
Tems’ inclusion underscores the growing recognition of African artistry on the world stage and reaffirms her status as one of Nigeria’s most influential musical exports.
Tickets and hospitality packages for the tournament are now available at FIFA.com/tickets.
