How Police Uncovered a Human Skull in ‘Prophet’s’ Church

The Enugu State Police Command has uncovered a suspected ritual shrine operated under the guise of a church, tied to the shocking murder of four siblings in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area.

The disturbing discovery was made on Saturday, June 7, during a coordinated raid led by the Divisional Police Officer of Igbo-Eze South and backed by a joint security team comprising the DSS, military, Neighbourhood Watch, and Forest Guards.

According to the police, the operation led them to an uncompleted building marked Synagogue, located at Abile Hill, Isi-Agu, Ibagwa-Aka. There, they recovered a human skull and a ritual staff believed to have been used in cult-like practices.

The structure is owned by Prophet Chinedu Ezedike, the controversial cleric already at the centre of investigations into the gruesome killing of four children, a case that had earlier prompted the demolition of another of his properties in the area.

Confirming the discovery in a Facebook statement, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South LGA, Barr. Ferdinand Ukwueze, who was part of the operation, wrote:

“To our dismay, a human skull and ritual staff were discovered at the so-called synagogue under construction by Prophet Chinedu Ezedike.”

He added that the items have been handed over to the police for proper investigation and prosecution of those involved.

“This discovery lends more credence to the disturbing allegations surrounding Ezedike. We will continue to expose hidden enclaves of criminality until our communities are safe.”

Ukwueze commended the joint security forces and concerned members of the public for their vigilance, emphasizing that under the administration of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, criminal hideouts and occult activities will not be tolerated.

“There will be no hiding place for criminals. We are building a just society where our people can pursue their dreams without fear of violence or intimidation.”

The police say investigations are ongoing, and further arrests may be made as they continue to unravel the full extent of the alleged ritual network and its link to other unsolved crimes in the region.
