Ibadan Poly SUG Set to Host Trade Fair to Empower Young Entrepreneurs, Small Vendors

The Students’ Union Government (SUG) of The Polytechnic Ibadan has announced an upcoming two-day trade fair aimed at promoting student-led businesses and external vendors within and beyond the campus community. Although the official date is yet to be disclosed, the fair promises to be a vibrant showcase of youth innovation, commerce, and entertainment.

The announcement was made in a statement released to Briefing Brew by the Union’s Public Relations Officer, Comrade Akinade Ridwan Bunyamin.

According to him, the event, tagged “TPI Trade Fair 2.0”, will create an open marketplace for student entrepreneurs and invited vendors to exhibit a wide variety of products and services.

“This trade fair is not just about business; it’s about building networks and visibility for student entrepreneurs,” Comr. Akinade stated.

“It will offer students the opportunity to market their brands and attract patronage in a lively atmosphere featuring music, comedy, live performances, and other side attractions.”

The trade fair is being organized under the leadership of the SUG President, Comrade Oladipupo Olamide Daniel, with coordination led by the SUG Social Directors—Comrade AbdulSalam Sodiq Damola (Social Director 1) and Comrade Edube Alice Alo (Social Director 2).

Speaking on the vision for the fair, Comrade AbdulSalam Sodiq said, “The TPI Trade Fair is more than a campus event; it’s a platform to encourage entrepreneurship and support campus creatives and small business owners. We’re inviting students, alumni, and external business partners to come participate.”

Comrade Edube Alice added, “It’s going to be fun-packed with a DJ, MC, and exciting performances. We want every student to leave with more than just products, we want them to leave inspired.”

The Students’ Union is also calling for sponsors and partners to support the event, which is expected to attract significant foot traffic from within the school and the general public.
