“Keep My Daughter Out of Your Affairs” – Iyabo Ojo Blasts Tanzanian Media Personality Over Warning to Priscilla

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded fiercely to Tanzanian media personality Mange Kimambi, who recently issued a stern warning to Priscilla Ojo—Iyabo’s daughter—over her public display of affection with husband, Juma Jux.

Taking to her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo expressed outrage at what she described as Kimambi’s “audacity” to label her daughter’s romantic posts as a distraction to Tanzania’s political movement ahead of the country’s elections.

“I’m appalled by your audacity!” Iyabo Ojo wrote. “Calling their content stupid and trying to drum fear and intimidation is unacceptable. Keep my daughter out of your affairs. She’ll post what she likes, when, and how she likes.”

Kimambi had earlier urged Priscilla and Jux to “stop posting stupid content” during what she described as a fight for Tanzanian citizens’ rights, advising them to stay silent on social media for the next five months until the elections conclude.

But Iyabo, not one to stay silent when it comes to her children, pushed back hard:
“As a parent, I’ve taught my daughter to be confident and authentic,” she said. “The Mkambala are very peaceful, but I don’t joke with my daughter.”

She also addressed speculations that their elaborate wedding in Tanzania was funded by the government. “It’s not your government that gave us money. It’s a cultural tradition in my family. The wife’s family covers the costs. I wanted an elaborate wedding for my daughter, and we, the Nigerians, gave her one.”

Iyabo also took aim at Kimambi’s own location and involvement:
“It’s laughable that you, living in America, think you can dictate to my daughter and her husband, who are living their lives in Tanzania.”

While reaffirming her identity as an activist, the actress emphasized that activism should not be used as a weapon to insult or target individuals.

“I stand by my principles and fight for what I believe in without insulting others. True leadership requires presence and courage,” she wrote.

The dramatic exchange comes just weeks after the grand wedding ceremonies of Priscilla and Juma Jux in both Nigeria and Tanzania, which attracted a star-studded guest list including Funke Akindele, Diamond Platnumz, Toyin Abraham, and Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Iyabo ended her statement with a pointed reminder:
“She doesn’t need you to love her. She is very loved and well-loved. We protect our own. Never forget that.”
