Church Quietly Buries Young Man Who Fell from Cocoa House in Ibadan

Tragedy struck at the iconic Cocoa House in Ibadan earlier this week as a 22-year-old man reportedly fell to his death from one of the building’s upper floors. The deceased, a recent graduate of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), was undergoing cybersecurity training at the time of the incident.

According to findings by Tribune Online, the young man was a member of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), which has since taken responsibility for his burial. Sources close to the family disclosed that the church quietly interred his remains shortly after the tragic event.

The victim was said to have lived with his mother in the Meridian area of Apata, Ibadan, while his father resides in the United States. Described by acquaintances as humble and respectful, he reportedly drove a car gifted by his parents but “never showed off.”

An eyewitness source revealed that, “The company rushed him to the emergency ward, but he was already dead. Worse still, it wasn’t the company that informed his mother—it was a random caller.”

The incident reportedly occurred under murky circumstances, with efforts by 32 FM, a radio station operating within Cocoa House, to document the scene blocked. “When they tried to take photos, they were stopped. His body was badly mangled, and they quickly covered it with cloth,” the source added.

Family sources have hinted at a possible legal action against the company responsible for the cybersecurity training, citing alleged negligence and failure to immediately notify the family.
