Rasheedat Ajibade delivered a stellar performance on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, scoring both goals as the Super Falcons of Nigeria claimed a 2-0 victory over Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses in an international friendly match.
Played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the encounter saw Nigeria dominate early on, taking the lead in the 28th minute. Ajibade earned a penalty after a quick burst into the box and confidently converted it to put Nigeria ahead.
Despite Cameroon’s defensive efforts, Nigeria doubled their advantage just before halftime. Omorinsola Babajide threaded a perfectly weighted pass into the box, and Ajibade made no mistake, slotting it past the Cameroonian goalkeeper for her second of the night.
In the second half, the Cameroonian side grew more assertive and pushed for a comeback. However, their best chance—deep into added time—was denied by Nigeria’s goalkeeper, the reigning CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, who made a spectacular save to preserve the clean sheet.
With this win, the Super Falcons recorded their 15th victory over Cameroon in 21 matches. Originally scheduled as a two-legged friendly, the series was reduced to one game following the late arrival of the Cameroonian team in Nigeria.
