Popular Nigerian content creator and actor, Akinyoola Ayoola, better known as *Kamo State*, has issued a firm warning to online critics, urging them to stop dragging his wife and newborn daughter into their social media attacks.
In an emotionally charged video posted to Instagram, Kamo expressed deep frustration over what he described as a disturbing trend of involving his family in public ridicule. While acknowledging that criticism comes with being in the spotlight, he drew the line at attacks targeting his loved ones.
“Say anything about me, but leave my wife and daughter out of it,” he said. “They didn’t sign up for this. I’m the public figure here—not them.”
Kamo and his wife, Esther Olamide, welcomed their first child in April 2025—a moment he shared joyfully with fans. The couple had earlier tied the knot in December 2024, in a small, intimate wedding. However, since then, they have faced increased scrutiny and backlash on social media.
One major flashpoint came after Kamo did not appear alongside his pregnant wife on the red carpet at the December premiere of Funke Akindele’s film *Everybody Loves Jenifa*. Critics were quick to pounce, particularly after it emerged that Akindele had played a notable role in their personal lives—sponsoring their baby’s naming ceremony and appearing in several of Kamo’s skits.
While many applauded Akindele’s generosity, others began to spin unfounded rumors and speculation online, a trend Kamo described as “hurtful and misleading.”
In his video, the skit maker appealed for empathy and respect, calling on the public to maintain boundaries when engaging with celebrities and their families online.
“This is no longer about skits or banter,” he said. “It’s about real people and real emotions. Respect my family.”
Kamo’s statement has since sparked conversations about online toxicity and the importance of drawing the line between public and private life—especially for celebrities navigating fame in the digital age.
