The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the leadership of Minister Nyesom Wike, has sealed off the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.
At exactly 2:06 pm on Monday, May 26, a team of FCTA officials arrived at Wadata Plaza, the PDP’s national secretariat located in Wuse Zone 5, and locked its entrance gates, effectively halting all operations within the premises.
This enforcement action follows the FCTA’s announcement on Sunday of a sweeping move to reclaim properties affected by the revocation of 4,794 land titles. The revocations, which target defaulters owing ground rents spanning between 10 and 43 years, include prominent establishments in the capital.
While details remain sketchy, the sealing of the PDP headquarters marks a significant escalation in the FCTA’s effort to recover long-overdue payments and enforce land administration policies.
This development could spark fresh tensions within Nigeria’s political space, especially as the PDP prepares for internal restructuring and strategy sessions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
More details to follow.
